Every cheap AI subscription in India falls into one of three buckets. Knowing which you are buying prevents almost every bad experience.
The three types
Private account. The plan is yours. You control the email and password. Costs the most, behaves exactly like buying from the vendor.
Activated on your personal email. The seller upgrades your own existing account to a paid plan. You keep your history and your login; only the billing is handled for you. Products that work this way are labelled "Activated on your personal email" on our site.
Shared / group buy. Several users share one premium plan and split the cost. Cheapest by a wide margin. You get full premium features, but the login is not exclusively yours.
Three rules for a shared login
- Never change the password or recovery email. It locks everyone out and voids the warranty.
- Never enable two-factor authentication on a shared account.
- Keep sensitive work in your own storage. Treat the chat history as semi-public.
Follow those and shared plans are stable for the full validity. Break them and you will be locked out within hours.
When to pay more for private
- Client or confidential work.
- You need account-level settings, billing invoices or team seats.
- You cannot tolerate even an occasional session reset.
